LOW ENERGY LIGHTING FOR TENANTS & LANDLORDS

Brighton & Hove City Council has teamed up with us, to give
free low energy light bulbs to private tenants and landlords.
An initial stock of 500 light bulbs will be distributed to
landlords of new properties we take on or to new tenants when they
rent an existing property.
Councillor Maria Caulfield, cabinet member for housing, said:
“These low energy light bulbs will help private landlords and
tenants reduce their carbon footprint by reducing the amount of
electricity used in properties fitted with some low energy light
bulbs. I am delighted that the council has the opportunity to work
with a local business in this environmentally friendly
way”.
Each light bulb uses only 20% of the electricity used by a
conventional light bulb, lasts longer and each bulb is estimated to
save around £6 per year*.
Paul Bonett said, “I am keen to support energy saving
initiatives in Brighton & Hove. I want using energy efficiency
light bulbs to become a natural part of moving home and I am
thrilled to be working with Brighton & Hove City Council on
such a sensible initiative”.
The energy efficiency light bulbs have been supplied by Climate
Energy, the councils’ managing partner for energy efficiency
grant schemes in private housing in the city.
